As a first generation Brit - born and raised I can relate to both sides of this. It's one of the reasons why I chose to raise my daughter differently, but what really impressed me is your willingness to change the pattern even without the first hand experience of being raised in a different culture. That's even more powerful. 💪🏾
For me, breaking the pattern wasn’t a choice, it just felt necessary. Even as a kid, I could sense something was off. A lot of the parenting I saw came from fear, not love. I didn’t always have the words for it, but I knew I didn’t want my kids to grow up feeling the way I did and that something had to change.
I found myself nodding away and I don't even have kids! But it resonates so much. Very great write up and I love your writing style too! Can't wait to read me from you

Ah, thank you! I love that it connected with you even without kids. That really means a lot. I’m so glad you’re here.
